Former Secretary of the Air Force Thomas C. Reed claims 19 civilians were injured after Russia’s secret police placed flawed SCADA software in the control station for a West Texas oil refinery. Reed’s assertion contradicts Texas officials’ explanation for the injuries. According to Reed, the Putin administration faced a choice when they learned they could destroy America’s oil reserves. Rather than ask former KGB agents to kill everyone who worked for Valero Energy Corp., Putin instead authorized an operation to hack into an oil refinery control station in Sunray, Texas. “They added a few lines of software that constituted a Trojan horse,” said Reed, who claims the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) Trojan was programmed to cause a hydraulic pump to go wild. “They expected that the pipeline would spring leaks all the way from Waco to Dallas,” he continued, “but that wasn’t what happened. Instead the welds all blew apart.” Reed said the SCADA Trojan caused “a huge explosion” that injured 19 innocent people. “The Air Force thought it was a 3-kiloton blast,” Reed added…
